This past weekend, I was able to take a trip to my favorite city Nashville and meet new and old friends alike. I've been working like crazy to hire sewers and start creating more original designs for Sherwood B. Last week, I finished up the first version of a business plan that will help launch the label! It's been a whirlwind of a week! I'll dish more details soon, but for now I'll just say I've been able to meet with a few rising stars in country music who are just as sweet as can be. I was able to create a really cute top for one girl (as shown below) and get measurements from another. Also was offered the opportunity of designing a sweet 16 party for a very good friend's daughter. All good things! I get so much energy and inspiration when I'm doing the things I love. Looking forward, the future looks bright.

Beaver Dam House Bridal Show
I did a bridal show at the historic Beaver Dam House in Davidson, NC. Check out my video from that event!

purple is the new white
I could have forecast this new purple trend in weddings! In the past year, I have had more brides requesting purple as their accent color of choice. According to writer and blogger Annalise Kaylor, "Purple, and all of the shades within that color spectrum, will be the hottest 2010 wedding color. Bridal stores are pushing a monochromatic wedding color scheme with purple. For example, dressing bridesmaids in several coordinating purple colors for a dramatic, but elegant look."
Here are some of my trend-setting brides that went purple in 2009.
